LULAC State Director for the Elderly Julia Villaronga visiting the sight of the up coming Elderly Conference at Dove Springs Center on Oct. 24 and 25th. She and District 12 Director Marcelo Tafoya inspected the center and planned the layout for the Conference.

District 12 Director Marcelo Tafoya was invited to speak before the National Hispanic Institution Conference at Quail Creek Country Club in San Marcos, Texas on August 22, 2008. He talked about how LULAC was formed, how LULAC lasted so long and how it continues to perform.

Dr. Hector Gonzalez founder of la Raza Unida talked on how it was formed, why it was formed, and what caused its demise.

I do want to thank all who not only supported me but make this meeting such a success. It’s always nice to see all and to speak of work we are doing. I don’t belong to any committee only the Civil Rights one and also in the National Civil Rights Commission yet I’m going to be sending issues that may come up in the Texas Legislator.
For example today today was a hearing held by Senator Committee on Education regarding Study the effectiveness of public school programs serving special education students, including autistic students. I will be sending a web connection so you can see and hear what was said.
Others bills will be coming up and I will try to inform.
